We cordially invite you to the Development Day 2017 - Without Water There Is No Life, which will take place in September in three Slovak cities from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. See you around?
Development Day 2017:
Košice (Friday 8. 9.) - City Park
Banská Bystrica (Saturday, 9 September) - fountain in front of the VUB building at Námestí slobody 1
Bratislava (Wednesday 13 September) - Eurovea fountain opposite the new building
The aim of the campaign WITHOUT WATER IS NOT LIFE is to draw attention to the fact that not everyone has access to drinking water and to inform the Slovak public about how Slovak non-profit organizations help with access to drinking water in the world.
The events were under the auspices of UNESCO Slovakia. The campaign is part of the European Media for Development project funded by the European Commission, supported by the SlovakAid programme and implemented in Slovakia by MVRO Platform. She is also a member of the ADRA Slovakia. More on www.bezvodyniejezivot.sk

How is ADRA Slovakia helping with access to drinking water?
In the field of water, this year ADRA Slovakia successfully completed a project in one of the poorest countries in Europe, Moldova, where only one third of the population has access to safe drinking water and only 1 % people have access to public sewerage in rural areas. Contaminated water and poor sanitation cause high morbidity. Often sick children miss classes at school, thus impairing their education and future. Since 2015, thanks to SlovakAid's financial support, we have been able to provide access to drinking water in the Hincesti region, install water filters and improve sanitary conditions for children in kindergartens and schools, and connect people to water purification systems. The project also included the dissemination of education in the areas of hygiene, health and the environment, educating teachers and educators of the facilities. These activities were also aimed at getting residents to carry out their own small projects to improve the quality of life in their neighbourhood.
ADRA Slovakia also helps to provide drinking water during humanitarian crises. This year we have joined the project Together for Kenya (www.spoluprekenu.sk), which is currently helping people survive the extreme drought in Kenya. You can find out more about how and where we are helping here: Annual Report 2016, you can now support our work online via Darujme.sk. Thank you for helping with us, it makes sense.
