Members Crisis Intervention Team<\/strong> (KIT<\/a>) of ADRA Slovakia have had several public discussions right at the beginning of 2019. They entered the new year with a resolution: to continue to speak out about violence, to organize more awareness-raising activities and educational events for different target groups in Slovakia. Because in addition to crisis intervention, social rehabilitation and adaptation of male and female clients and advocacy prevention is also important<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

After the first two discussions in Bratislava (on 9 February at the UNIK KC and on 12 March at FSEV UK) and one in Bansk\u00e1 Bystrica (on 9 March at the CASD), this time KIT moves to Nitra<\/strong>. The event will take place in Wednesday (27th March) from 6pm in the Trafa\u010dka Photo Gallery<\/a> at 65 Janka Kr\u00e1\u013ea Street in Nitra under the name \u201eHow to detect a manipulator in a relationship<\/strong>\u201e.<\/p>\n

The discussion is directed primarily at young people who are in the process of falling in love, building a relationship and do not know the warning signs that they may be in a violent relationship.<\/p>\n

There are more and more stories like this (not only on the movie screen): he was funny at the beginning of the relationship, she was totally in love with him. But suddenly she doesn't understand his actions. He makes increasingly frequent jealous scenes, forbids her to meet his friends, monitors her mobile communications, raises his voice, makes himself the victim during an argument and drives her into a corner, while lying to her himself behind her back. Maybe once a slap has fallen. But only once. And she puts the blame on herself and justifies his actions in front of others and herself... How can it turn out after a few years of cohabitation? A script retold as if through a photocopier one in three women<\/strong> in the world and in Slovakia. This is not right.<\/p>\n

KIT experts will therefore help young people during the March discussion in Nitra recognise signs of manipulation in a relationship<\/strong>, they will also outline - how such situations and violent relationships can be addressed and prevented. Attendees will also learn what to do if they witness domestic or sexual violence in their neighbourhood. Daniela Borzov\u00e1 (lawyer) together with her colleagues (psychologist and\/or social worker) from the Crisis Intervention Team will patiently answer all questions from the audience.<\/p>\n

If you want to learn more about the topic, or just to make sure that your relationship is not toxic and is moving in the right direction - come to the Photo Gallery Trafa\u010dka in March. There will be an open discussion about a still taboo topic from behind the closed doors of our homes. Because violence cannot be kept silent.<\/p>\n

Admission to the discussion is free, catering provided. After the discussion, a short individual consultation<\/strong> with a lawyer and a psychologist - members of ADRA KIT.
