ADRA is an international organisation. The Slovak office also sends its volunteers to different countries to help those in need.<\/p>\n
The safety and health of our deployed volunteers is our priority, taking precedence over anything material. That is why we are monitoring the situation very closely, not least during this time of the Corona pandemic, so that we can intervene quickly to protect our people if necessary. Volunteers are also trained in personal safety issues before their departure, and it is their right to request repatriation (return to their home country) at any time if they assess their situation as dangerous for their continued work in the country.<\/p>\n

\nProject: support for the education programme for Syrian refugee children in Lebanon (donor: SlovakAid)
\nAssessment of the situation: Corona pandemic, increase in the number of positive persons, closed borders of Lebanon, possibility of difficulties in supply, communication, health care
\nSolution: after consultation, agreement on repatriation. Since the night of 17th and 18th of March Ani\u010dka is safe in Slovakia and in home quarantine. She managed to get home almost minutes before the border was closed by air via Istanbul, Berlin, Vienna, and then by train to the border where she was picked up by car by relatives.<\/p>\n

\nAssessment of the situation: pandemic Corona, slight increase in the number of people, embassy consulted, repatriation offer refused (the situation in Slovakia is worse than in Georgia), very strong measures in the country

He is working from home for the fourth week. He stays away from the cities. He is prepared to stay in the country for a longer period of time.<\/p>\n
\nProject: promoting sustainable development in the economy (donor: SlovakAid)
\nAssessment of the situation: pandemic Corona, slight increase in the number of people, preventive (not medical) repatriation of US people (because it is worse in the US), consultation with the embassy, offer for repatriation refused (the situation in Slovakia is worse than in Moldova), slow spread of the epidemic
