How to make sense of the current political situation in Ukraine? What are the motives of the people fleeing, but also the stories of internally displaced people? Who is behind the information war in the country? Why are the ongoing reforms (failing)? How are relations with Russia evolving? What do civil society, the NGO sector and the media have to say? What do we say? How can Slovakia help its eastern neighbour?
We invite you to another one of the ADRA evenings at the UNIK tea room in Bratislava. This time informal discussion (in English) will focus on the past, present and future situation in our eastern neighbours - Ukraine. The guest of the evening will be Ukrainian communication expert, Viktoriya Hrubas, who will come to Bratislava for a study trip.
Viktoriya Hrubas is currently working as a communications expert for the Danish Refugee Council. Her PhD research at Zaporizhzhya National University focuses on the decentralization of the country, the reformation of several sectors in Ukraine, as well as the need to modernize the political system in our eastern neighbor. In the past, she has worked for several NGOs and international institutions, even serving for three years as an interpreter and coordinator of observation of four types of elections in her home country.
Viktoria's study trip to Slovakia (9 July - 13 July) is organized thanks to the project ‘Enhancing civil society's management, fundraising and communication in Ukraine’, which is implemented by ADRA Slovakia thanks to the support of the International Visegrad Fund. More information about the project can be found here: https://www.adra.sk/budovanie-kapacit-ukrajina/
We are looking forward to seeing you already on Wednesday 11 July 2018 at 5.30 pm in the UNIK tea room at Ferienčíkova 5 in Bratislava. Admission to the discussion is free.
