ADRA Slovakia joined the Itibo project

In 2019, ADRA CZ and ADRA SZ joined forces and agreed to cooperate on some projects. One of them is Itibo hospital.

When we asked Ales what worries him the most at the moment, it came out - electricity. The local grid is so unstable that several times a day we are left without a source of electricity. And as a law of providence, this happens just when we have a patient on the table, or someone is in the ICU (intensive care unit) dependent on the machines. This is really a problem.

It didn't take long before we made the decision to try to solve the problem. Expert consultations followed, looking for sponsors, contacting suppliers in Africa... And today we are in Itibo as a team of 5 technicians and electricians to make the dream come true. Working with local experts, we bought and imported a large generator, solar panels, batteries and endless cables, all sorts of controllers, converters and other things.

We are working to ensure that the hospital has a source of electricity from solar panels to help cover short-term power outages for the machines, while also ensuring that the hospital has light. For longer outages, a large diesel generator will automatically kick in to keep the hospital running.

We are happy that we can now work with the team of doctors and medics from CZ to make a good thing happen. Thank you friends for your kindness and support. Together, we really can help better.
