Safe water for families in Lebanon

The unavailability of safe drinking water in Lebanon poses a challenge not only for Syrian refugee families, but also for the local Lebanese community.

Many households are forced to use water stored in ponds, tanks or reservoirs which are unsafe and lead to various health problems such as cholera, hepatitis A and scabies.

By distributing 1,082 plastic tanks with a capacity of 1,000 litres, we have strengthened the capacity of low-income households in six areas in the Bika valley that were struggling with limited access to water.
One of these households includes the family of Mrs. Malak, for whom the reservoir has provided access to safe drinking water and improved their quality of life.
