Our new HelpKids initiative gives you the opportunity to give the gift of education to specific children from underprivileged families in Uganda.
Children belong in school. But what if they don't have parents, or their parents don't have the financial means to do so?
Our new initiative HelpKids gives you the opportunity to make a difference and give the gift of education to specific children from underprivileged families in Uganda.
We have established cooperation with two schools at once:
Youth Initiative Primary School was founded by a group of young people who arrived as refugees in Kyaka II camp in western Uganda, which is home to more than 120,000 refugees from Congo, Burundi, Rwanda and South Sudan. After leaving the camp and getting an education, they decided to return here and help the local children. They are currently looking after 450 children ranging in age from pre-school to the first year of primary school. It is the only school in the camp that not only provides education but also food for the children. Because you can't learn with a hungry belly.
Within this school, we support two programs for orphans and children from underprivileged families:
Treasure Junior School is a community school located on the outskirts of Kampala. With the help of qualified teachers, it provides high quality education and prepares its graduates for successful continuation of their studies in secondary schools. The school also offers a boarding programme that provides opportunities for children who would otherwise end up on the streets. This program not only provides them with an education, but also educates them from preschool through the second grade of elementary school.
Within this school, we support two programs for orphans and children from underprivileged families:
HOW DOES IT WORK?
1) Go to our website HelpKids.
2) At the bottom of the page, choose one or more children you would like to support in a long-term and systematic way (ideally for at least one school year, but at least 1 trimester = 4 months).
3) Fill in the registration form and send it to our address: helpkids@adra.sk
4) Following your registration, our programme coordinator will contact you and prepare a sponsorship agreement, take care of all the administration related to the project and make sure that you have regular information and contact with your school.
If you want to provide one-time meals for one or more children in Uganda, go directly to our ADRA HelpShop.
If you need more information, please do not hesitate to contact us at: helpkids@adra.sk
Thank you for being a stranger to the fate of African children!
