Open Day

Last week we commemorated the year of humanitarian aid to Ukraine in our Trenčín warehouse.

It was an amazing experience where we met many exceptional people, including volunteers and partners with whom we work closely to help Ukraine.

During the event we had the opportunity to see the opening of photographs on humanitarian aid and Ukraine, listen to a talk on how Slovakia helps abroad and take part in workshops on cyber security and Russian propaganda.

Our guests from state organizations presented how they are involved in humanitarian aid. Thanks to the good cooperation of the organisations IOM Slovakia, IP, Mareena a Mental Health League of the Slovak Republic, we were able to prepare a varied programme aimed at introducing humanitarian aid in Slovakia to the general public and high school students.

The main speaker of the event was Tomáš Kriššák, who drew our attention to the fact that digital platforms have become a censor of what we should support in society. Voices that weaken and polarize society are prioritized. That is why we decided to organise this event. Volunteering and helping someone in need does not divide us, but unites us.

At the event, we also had the opportunity to see a virtual reality of the journey of refugees from Syria, Jordan and the largest refugee camp in Lebanon, presented by representatives of the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR).

The whole event culminated with the Friday evening concert of the Czech singer Pavel Helan and Ukrainian singer Oksana Kozun-Turcer, which was broadcast by Christian Television Tv Noe.

The atmosphere was charged with emotions, togetherness and thoughts about our common goal - to help people in need.

We would like to thank all the speakers and participants of the event:
