Specioza Muhawenimana is an elderly mother who, together with her husband, takes care of their five children, plus two grandchildren - half-orphans who were entrusted to their care by their mother. These children lost their father during the unrest in Congo. Unable to cope or take care of her children, the mother entrusted them to the care of their grandparents in the belief that they would take better care of them.

For more than a year, the children have had no contact with their mother and the family does not know where she is. The grandparents have taken full responsibility for the children and continue to support them despite their advanced age, their own difficulties and limited resources.

The eldest son in the family took the main responsibility for supporting the entire household. However, he does not have a stable job and only does odd jobs to provide food and meet the most urgent needs. His income is limited, so he is unable to support the entire family of 9.

The second oldest child is already in high school, but is having great difficulty. He occasionally works at night to earn money for school expenses. Church members occasionally contribute small amounts to support his education. Despite these efforts, his situation remains very difficult; he must choose between work and school. The family lives under tremendous pressure, with limited income, and is unable to meet even basic needs. They struggle to ensure that the children stay in school and that the household can survive. Neighbors and fellow believers from the church are helping them.
