BUS ADRA is fully engaged in helping to fight the pandemic. We are serving as a mobile vaccination unit for the health teams of the Banská Bystrica municipality.
This week we have been providing transport and logistics to medical teams around Lučenec.
„This is a big help for us retirees.“ I was told this morning by an elderly lady who came to the mobile vaccination centre accompanied by her neighbour to get vaccinated. „We don't have to travel far and pester neighbours or friends to drive us. You know, we elders don't want to be a nuisance to anyone...“
The health care provider is KardioMed from Lučenec. A professional team of doctors and medical staff is willing to make trips to neighbouring towns and villages in addition to the service in the vaccination centre. This week we helped them with transport during trips to the town of Poltár and the village of Cinobaňa.
ADRA also appreciates the excellent cooperation with the local government, which provided everything necessary - premises, coordination of citizens and the necessary technical background. The citizens are very grateful for the service of the mobile vaccination team. The fact that they do not have to travel to distant towns for vaccinations is a great help, especially for the elderly, who often have mobility problems.
The experience of good cooperation between regional and local government, health care providers and us - non-profits - assures us that the slogan „Together we can do it“ is really true.
