About the project: Uganda is home to nearly two million refugees from countries as diverse as South Sudan, Burundi and Congo. Since 1999, ADRA Uganda has been a key player in helping refugees and has implemented a number of projects to improve their living conditions. Come and be part of our team that helps measure the impact of these projects.
What will be your role? Under the guidance of the Programme Manager, you will assist the team in monitoring projects, collecting data, analysing it and creating reports. You will gain experience working in the field and learn how to evaluate the effectiveness of humanitarian projects in real-life settings. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work with data analysis tools and statistical software.
Your main tasks will be:
- Support the team in setting up and improving systems for data collection and analysis.
- Visit field projects, collect data directly from beneficiaries and stakeholders.
- Assist in analyzing collected data and creating visual and written reports.
- Monitor progress of projects and provide feedback for effective planning of future activities.
- Contribute to training and capacity building of local staff in monitoring and evaluation (MEAL).
- Learn new methods and tools for data analysis that you will be able to use in the future.
Who is the ideal candidate?
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who are ready to learn and gain practical experience. Although previous professional experience is not a requirement, we would certainly appreciate it if you have:
- University degree in social sciences (e.g. sociology, statistics) or related fields.
- Basic knowledge of data collection and analysis, project evaluation or research methods (you can now put what you learned in school into practice!).
- Analytical thinking and ability to work with data.
- Orientation on humanitarian aid topics and the project cycle.
- Excellent knowledge of English (another language is an advantage!).
- Ability to work independently, reliably and efficiently, even under challenging conditions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and basic knowledge of statistical software are an advantage.

The costs of volunteering, including flights, insurance, vaccinations, are fully covered by ADRA and donors. Volunteers receive a monthly pocket allowance (lump sum) of 1100 € net to cover additional costs in the field. These costs include e.g. food, local travel costs, communication, etc.
