The plane with the delegation from Slovakia flew to the difficult Beirut. However, it is not flying empty-handed, but is fully loaded with humanitarian aid for the people of Lebanon.
Humanitarian material was provided by the State Material Reserves Administration, but also by non-profit organizations ADRA, Magna and St. Elizabeth's College. The shipment includes thousands of respirators, tests for covid-19, germicidal radiators, as well as powdered milk for children and other essential supplies for local hospitals.
A delegation of the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Ms Ingrid Brock, will pay an official visit to Lebanon. Representatives of humanitarian organisations, ADRA and St. Elizabeth's College, which are active in Lebanon, are also taking part in the trip.
The programme will also include the ceremonial handover of the water reservoir in the village of Hay El Shaab Wal Zahraa, Baalbek, the construction of which was secured by ADRA Slovakia with the financial support of Slovak AID. We are pleased to be able to officially hand over the 500m water tank to the3, which provides drinking water for 29 000 people in a drought-stricken area.
