Belgian activists donated five and a half tons of humanitarian aid.
Yesterday, a group of Belgian activists, consisting of Sandra, Raphael, Patrick, Mickael, Christopher, and Bruno, brought us five and a half tons of food, toiletries, medicine, and clothing for people affected by the war in Ukraine.
During the first days of the war, activists started to mobilise their neighbourhood and organised a collection of material aid for Ukraine. Their decision to donate the collected aid to us in ADRA Slovakia came after they learned that we have the experience and capacity to send humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian side. We will send part of the aid to the people in Ukraine, and part of it will go to our ADRA DobroCentier, which provide material assistance to refugees in Slovakia.
During the visit of our Belgian supporters, the director of our organization, Mr. Stanislav Bielik, introduced them to our humanitarian projects and activities. Afterwards, we went together to Aupark in Bratislava, where we bought food and hygiene items for refugees worth € 500.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this collection and who is not indifferent to the fate of Ukrainians. A big thank you also goes to our volunteer Zuzka, who provided us with contact to the group and became our interpreter for a few hours.
