Faraja Angel
Age/Gender: 6 years old, boy
Mama Dorothe Rubenga lives with her three children in the Kyaka II refugee settlement in Sweswe. Her husband has thrown her out of the house so she lives in a dwelling given to her by a friend. The family depends on a monthly WFP (World Food Programme) benefit of 12,000 UGX, (3.50.-€)/month/person, which is not enough for the family to survive and pay school fees.
Dorothe fled the Congo with her two children after losing her husband in the war. When she got to a refugee camp, she decided to remarry and gave birth to another child. Since then, her husband has begun to throw her out of the house because of the two children, of whom he is not the biological father. Dorothe decided to leave him and was helped by friends who provided her with a modest shelter where she and her children lived. Her neighbours help her, but her husband threatens her and wants to take away the child he is the father of.
Life will certainly change for Dorothea and her children when she receives support to ensure her children's education.
For Faraja Angel we've already found a donor family.
THANK YOU! 🙂
