Anet is an abandoned mother and lives with her young children in alarming conditions in one rented room in a damp shack in the outskirts of Kampala in the Nabweru Nord II area. This is a slum area where there is a very high concentration of poor people with no employment opportunities. Sanitation is very poor here, causing many diseases and health risks.

Family financial situation: Anet has four young children, but their father abandoned them because he fell into drugs and alcohol. The mother hasn't even known where she is for several years.

The mother tries to support the family with casual work, but is unable to pay the children's school fees. She is dependent on the charity of poor people in the neighbourhood.

Vrigo is the eldest of four children. Although he is already 9 years old, he has never been to school because his mother can't afford it. Sponsorship support is needed so that he gets at least a basic education and also a hot lunch every day. Education can pave the way for him to learn to fend for himself in the future and also help his mother to provide a livelihood for his younger siblings.
