He lives with his sister and mother in a rented shack on the outskirts of Kampala in an area where there are slums and a very high concentration of poor people with no employment opportunities. Sanitation is very poor here, causing many diseases and health risks.

They have a hard time providing even basic livelihoods because the mother stays at home with the children, has no money for living or schooling, and is abandoned in the community, dependent on the help of others.
