Urgent help for the people of Beirut

Eli is one of the survivors of the Beirut blast. In the immediate aftermath, he rescued his neighbours. He was willing to tell us his story. He is one of the 300,000 people whose homes were devastated by the explosion in Beirut and lost almost everything...

ADRA, together with other humanitarian organisations, is on the ground and is involving many volunteers in the work. Young people are clearing debris, cleaning houses and streets, packing and distributing food aid packages, helping local residents.

What do they need most?

  • Help for hospitals. Six of Beirut's largest hospitals were severely damaged. Yet they have to function and cater for the onslaught of wounded. That is why we are preparing a shipment of equipment for the hospitals
  • Food aid. People who have lost their roofs, their jobs and, for many, their health are now in dire need of food parcels. That's why we have sent non-perishable food that our partners are distributing
  • Repair of damaged houses. Window glazing, repairs and renovations. This is our long-term systematic aid project. Team ADRA International has a job here for a couple of years...

ADRA Slovakia is actively involved in the coordination and provision of international humanitarian assistance of the ADRA International network for Lebanon. We are in direct contact with our partners in Beirut who are distributing aid on the ground.

How can I help?
