The family lives in a rented shack on the outskirts of Kampala in an area where there is a very high concentration of poor people with no employment opportunities. The sanitation is very poor, causing many diseases and health risks. Although they have both parents, they are in debt and are unable to repay their debts. They also have a problem to provide the basic subsistence for the family, there is no money for school fees, so the children do not go to school.
