The family lives in a rented room in a slum area on the outskirts of Kampala. The living conditions are very poor, there is a high risk of disease and the environment is dangerous, especially for children.

My father is disabled, his legs are paralysed and he can only move with the use of his hands. The mother has no work due to illiteracy. Their family situation does not allow them to pay school fees. They survive only through odd jobs and handouts from good people in the neighborhood. 

The girl needs school fees, food and school supplies to start school as she has already reached pre-school age but is still at home because of lack of funding.
