A five-member team led by Director IkHyun Kim visited Slovakia these days.

 

„We admire your work and the enthusiasm of the people of Slovakia. Your small country is doing great things,“ said the director in an interview with ADRA volunteers. But our Korean partners did not come empty-handed. They also supported our project through which we prepare and send food aid packages to Ukraine. Their donation of USD 20,000 enabled us to purchase and prepare 400 food parcels (10 pallets of aid). In the coming days, we will send these packages to Mukachevo (Transcarpathian region), where they will go directly into the hands of 400 Ukrainian families.

 

Together with our guests we visited the border crossing Vyšné Nemecké and the refugee registration centre in Michalovce, where they got acquainted with the conditions in which our volunteers provided assistance to refugees after crossing the border.

 

We also visited our humanitarian warehouse in Košice, where our partners were involved in the preparation of family packages and helped load another truck of aid to Ukraine. They were also interested in the stories of the refugees who have found temporary shelter in our premises and are also helping to pack aid shipments. Ironically, they fled the town of Bucha and are now packing the aid we are sending to their hometown. They proudly say, „You make it possible for us to help our...“.

 

Collaboration the international ADRA network is a great help to us. Our partners around the world are mobilizing resources, and we at ADRA Slovakia are taking care of the purchase and transportation of humanitarian aid thanks to our strategic location.
