The ADRA team, which is currently on a monitoring trip in Uganda, met with the local ADRA Uganda team at our Slovak farm.
We visited the leadership of the refugee area and, together with UNHCR representatives and colleagues from ADRA Uganda, we had the opportunity to meet with male and female farmers directly in their fields.
Each of them has a field near their modest dwelling where they grow vegetables for their own subsistence.
They received seeds, seedlings and tools thanks to our project FOUR (Farming oportunities for Uganda and Rwanda.), donated by SlovakAID.
We were pleasantly surprised how these people use every bit of land. Potatoes, tomatoes, cabbage, onions and various vegetables unknown to us...
They also greatly appreciated the training and advice of our experienced instructors. In this way, we have helped more than 500 families in a refugee area where 123,000 refugees and immigrants live.
We have seen for ourselves that it really makes sense to help...
