Our volunteer Anna Joachímová received the Heart in the Palm of the Hand award in the category of Volunteer helping abroad in the framework of the official development aid of the Slovak Republic under the SlovakAid logo!
Anička spent last year in Uganda, where she helped farmers on our ADRA farm in Kyaka II refugee camp to learn basic farming techniques. Thanks to her work, refugee families have also gained valuable skills that have enabled them to improve their harvests and secure a more stable income.
You can watch Anika's inspiring story in this video.
This is not our first volunteer award. Other volunteers have received the Heart on the Palm award in the past:
- Martin Pavelka - Supporting the integration and education of Syrian refugees in Istanbul
- Andrij Dichtyaruk - rural development and agri-food incubator in Moldova
- Veronika Zimová - Supporting the education of children from excluded communities in Albania
- Samuel Čellár - building self-sufficiency of farming families in Kenya through fair sale of sesame
We are proud and thank all our volunteers from the bottom of our hearts who are changing the world for the better!
Thank you!
