Upon arrival and parking of our Help Team Bus, a joyful welcome awaited us. We have become friends with many of the facility's clients over the years. They remember our names and even ask about those who helped with us more than 15 years ago.

 

Communicating with clients is difficult for us at first. Each one has different needs and requires a special approach. Nevertheless, we always find our way to each other. Most importantly, we give them time and spend time together playing games, singing, and going on outings.

 

The icing on the cake was a trip on our Help Team Bus. With one of the groups we went to Sysľovisko under Muránská planina, where we saw with our own eyes the birth of a baby donkey, fed the gophers, stroked an owl, and even took a ride on a real carriage. All these are unforgettable experiences. We wonder if we helped them more, or they helped us more - to understand what life is really all about.

 

After a few days of service, our team of volunteers returned home. We are leaving, but the team of caregivers and medical professionals remain to serve 24/7. What they are dedicated to is not a job, but a mission.
