Stories of ADRA volunteers

They are not indifferent to the fate of strangers. That is why our volunteers have decided to devote their time and energy to helping people coming from Ukraine.

The volunteers who have also helped on the eastern border under our auspices are people with big hearts. They helped people coming from Ukraine first at the border in Vyšné Nemecký, and later in the tent centre in Michalovce. Some of them just for a few hours, others for weeks. They were determined to help everyone. During the day, but also at night, in the cold, in the rain, and in the wind.

They are true heroes who, for a few moments, forgot themselves, their needs and the comforts of home, and sacrificed themselves to help those who were the targets of aggression. People who have lost their homes, and some of them their loved ones, in a matter of days.

They helped everyone - mothers with children, the elderly, the wounded, pets...

Age and nationality have also become irrelevant. The younger, the older, Slovaks and foreigners joined in.
But they all had one thing in common - a determination to help.

In this short video, we bring you some stories that show their inner strength and undying desire to help.

Thank you!
