Shimiye Baraka

Age/Gender: 3 years, boy

Parent/Guardian: Ngirabatware Bageni - mama

Child's situation:

Baraka lives with her mother in a small hut in Kyaka II refugee camp.

Mama Ngirabatware had a husband with whom they lived together. But when the situation deteriorated and they could not take care of the children, he decided to return to Congo. He left his wife in a camp in Uganda with their six children.

The family has existential problems, so the older children decide to drop out of school and try to provide food for their siblings. The family is headed by the mother, and the children help her in getting food and other basic necessities. They go around the settlement looking for help from neighbours who would be willing to support them by providing food.

Family income:

The family depends on the monthly support for refugees in social distress (12 000UGX = 3 Euros per person per month). They are looking for casual work for food.

She is looking for any support she can get to start selling in the market and get food for the children as well.

Baraka needs sponsorship support, for tuition. At school, he gets a hot lunch every day in addition to his education. If we also help this child to get a basic education, he can have a good future in life.

Sponsorship support needed: 20.-€/month,

Sponsorship will cover: school fees, school supplies, school uniform, hot lunch, basic medicines and first aid for children at school.

Shimiye Baraka has already found a donor family.
THANK YOU! 🙂
