Cycling, community, and helping others came together during the Slovak Gravel Cycling Cup finals. In addition to the athletic performances, the GRAVEL NyNa Cup event also provided concrete support for the Evangelical United Boarding School in Červenica near Prešov.

Following last year's successful road cycling race in Voderady, the event continued this year as well. This time, gravel cyclists gathered October 4, 2026, at the Golf Trnava – Biely Kostol course, where the Slovak Gravel Cycling Cup final—Round 7 of the GRAVEL NyNa Cup—took place.

Gravel cycling combines elements of road and off-road cycling. Riders therefore faced a course that took them not only along paved roads but also along dirt and unpaved paths. The event also featured a program for families with children, including children’s bike races.

However, the event wasn't just about athletic performance. The organizers decided to combine cycling with helping others. A portion of the proceeds from the entry fees and voluntary donations collected during the event was earmarked to support the children at the Evangelical United Boarding School in Červenica near Prešov.

During the race, we managed to raise 235 euros. Many visitors and participants also scanned the QR code for the ADRA Slovakia public fundraiser Let's Bring Warmth to the Children and they plan to send their contributions later. The total amount may therefore not yet be final.

The Evangelical United Boarding School in Červenica near Prešov is the only school in Slovakia and Central Europe that specializes in educating children who are deaf-blind. It is attended by 39 children with multiple disabilities.

The school is also building a new wing that will provide the children with additional space for education and rehabilitation. It will house, for example, two classrooms, a multisensory laboratory, and rooms for hydrotherapy and massage. To ensure that the new facilities can be used even during the colder months, heating must be provided.

That is one of the reasons why ADRA Slovakia launched a public fundraiser Let's Bring Warmth to the Children. Individuals, businesses, and communities can all get involved—by making a donation of any amount or by sharing the fundraiser.
