The Ambassador of the Slovak Republic in Slovenia, Mr. Peter Zeleňák, visited our humanitarian aid centre in Slovenia and thanked us for our quick response to the disaster and good representation of Slovak civil society abroad. We welcomed the Ambassador in our large tent, which serves as a warehouse for humanitarian aid, gave him a tour of our mobile site - the Help Team Bus and introduced him to the work of local volunteers and the Czech and Austrian ADRA branches.

 

In cooperation with the Slovak Water Management Company, we managed to use a drone to survey the catchment areas of the surrounding rivers and identify restoration works on their riverbeds. During the weekend, the Slovak Water Management Company's staff returned the Planina River to its original channel and paved the road to Cajnar. Restoration work on the banks of the Okonina River continues.

 

We are glad that in cooperation with our compatriots we can also provide our expertise outside of Slovakia to help people affected by disasters.
