Vivian Betty
Age/Gender: born in 2021, girl
Parent: Safari Dusabe – mother
Vivian's mother lost her husband during the war in her home country and was left alone with seven children. When the war
She continued, saying that they decided to flee the country and came to Uganda, leaving behind their brother, who had already started his own family. After spending some time in Uganda, they received a phone call from the M23 group, ordering them to send money so they could release their brother, whom they claimed had been kidnapped. Vivian’s mother sent the requested amount, but she never saw the money again. Later, she decided to go to the Congo to bring back the three children who had stayed behind, and she began to care for them.
While staying at the refugee camp, Vivian's mother took in a few more orphans who had no one to care for them. This has made their situation much more difficult, and as a result, not all of the children are able to attend school.
They are now living together in modest circumstances in the KYIAKA II refugee camp.
