Collection for Lebanon and Syria

We are launching a public collection to help people affected by the war in the Middle East.

 

As a result of the daily bombardment and escalating violence in Lebanon, more than 1 million people, of which one third are children. Many schools and universities have been closed to serve as temporary shelters, but still Thousands of people are sleeping on the streets, they are traumatised and uncertain of what the next day will bring. The prices of food and basic necessities are rocketing and have become unaffordable for many. People on the run are struggling to survive.

Our partner organisation ADRA Lebanon, with whom we have been working for more than five years to provide water for the people of the Bika Valley, is helping on the ground - so far distributed 2 770 hot meals for people in the hardest-hit sites and camps. In addition to food, it also provides them with water and basic hygiene items. However, the number of those in need of help is growing every day, and resources are not sufficient.

On the other side of the border, in Syria, the humanitarian catastrophe continues, compounded by 12 years of conflict and last year's devastating earthquake. Despite this, however, more than 200,000 people from Lebanon have fled to Syria, where they ADRA Syria Provides basic necessities - from blankets and food to hygiene kits. In these shelters, they try to provide refugees with at least minimum living conditions. However, winter is approaching and the situation is only getting worse.
