Our director Stano Bielik reports directly from Ukraine.
Russian shelling of Ukrainian cities has crippled the entire country. Our ADRA Slovakia team, headed by Director Stan Bielik, was here today to carry out the distribution of humanitarian aid and monitoring of the ongoing project. Despite the intense shelling, our team is fine and without injuries. Our Ukrainian partners from ADRA Ukraine are already prepared for such situations and follow strict security protocols.

Today's escalation has also affected the distribution of humanitarian aid. Early this morning we loaded a bus with five tons of humanitarian aid at our ADRA warehouse in Ukraine. With the bus packed, we set off towards Kiev, but after an hour we had to withdraw to Mukachevo, near the Slovak border, because of the rapidly deteriorating security situation. We will continue to distribute aid. However, we have to wait until the situation stabilises and it is safe to go out again. The protection of human lives is our first priority.
