ADRA is responding to an emergency situation!
Over the weekend, we were contacted by doctors from the Infectology Clinic in Kramáry, who are dealing with COVID-19, asking for help with the logistics of providing an external workplace to investigate patients suspected of having coronavirus.
On Sunday 15th March in the evening, the ADRA Director together with the ADRA Programme Director took part in a Skype meeting with the doctors and logisticians of the Kramari site, and agreed on a preliminary cooperation of ADRA in the field of logistics.
On Monday, 16 March, in the morning and during the day, ADRA was in the field - at the site of the future testing in Kramary and continued to prepare the measures.
Interim result of the work on the evening of Monday 16 March:
ADRA Slovakia is a partner of the Infectious Diseases Department of the hospital in Kramary and cooperates in providing logistics in the parking lot and in the exterior of the hospital.
By agreement we provide:
* container-office for patient registration and selection (we have already brought it today, put it in place and connected it to electricity)
* tent, which will serve as an external waiting room and shelter (it is already imported in Blavo, tomorrow we will erect it)
* mobile toilet - will be delivered tomorrow
* mobile fencing - will be delivered tomorrow
* waste containers - we will deliver tomorrow
* signage and orientation boards - will be made tomorrow
* chairs and two other tents - they are brought from the main ASDRA warehouse (Považská Bystrica) to the emergency warehouse in Bratislava for further needs
Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17, we will finish all the logistics and hand it over for use. We welcome any help in the form of volunteer work. Positions are open for volunteers (both medical and non-medical) to organize patient outreach. If interested, please contact us via email office@adra.sk.
We are glad that we could get involved in this way. It is certainly good that as ADRA we have the logistical support to help where it is really needed - this time right in the epicentre of the aid.
It is very operational, but when things need to be dealt with, it is necessary to be flexible.
Thank you to everyone who helps us!
Stanislav Bielik
Director of ADRA
