That is one of the reasons why the school in Kampala is called „Treasure Junior School.“.
And it is in this school that our donors from Slovakia have adopted children remotely, whom they systematically support financially.
I took advantage of my trip to Kampala to visit this school and meet the children. Many of the families also sent a personal letter to the children with a greeting, photos or even a small gift. In return, the children send their report cards and a small picture or thank you note.
It is always touching for me to see happy children who can go to school thanks to the fact that someone in Slovakia has a good heart and decided to systematically support education for a completely foreign child in a far away Africa. These are all children who do not have a father or a mother, many of them are taken care of by their grandmother or some relatives or neighbours. Without your support they could not afford to send them to school...
I also met two boys here - Israeli and Bisik, whom I adopted 4 years ago and that actually started the whole program. They are learning very well. One is supposedly going to be a doctor and the other a pastor. So I still have a lot of saving to do... My wife, on the other hand, is fostering two little girls - Veronica and Fakira. I also met Janet, who was adopted as another great-granddaughter by our 90 year old grandmother... Each child and donor has a beautiful memorable story.
Dear our donors. On behalf of the school and the families of your adopted children, I express our admiration and thanks to you. By donating your education, you have given 38 children in this school alone a chance to make it in life someday!
The financial contribution covers school fees, a hot lunch every day, school uniform, basic health insurance and, for some children, a boarding house with a tutor...
