In the presence of the ambassadors of Ukraine and Japan, we shipped seven generators to Ukraine.
In the presence of official representatives of Japan, Slovakia and Ukraine, we shipped seven 50 kW generators from our Trenčín warehouse to Ukraine, which will serve medical facilities in Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporozhye and Odessa regions. The ceremony of sending the generators was attended by the Ambassador of Japan to the Slovak Republic, Makoto Nakagawa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Slovakia, Myroslav Kastran, Mayor of Trenčín, Richard Rybnicek and Eduard Buraš, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Cross-Border Cooperation.
„The winter will be even harder than last year,“ notes Myroslav Kastran, Ambassador of Ukraine. This is a unique cooperation between Slovakia and Japan, which has a significant impact on the lives of ordinary people in Ukraine. „Thanks to this project, we will send 16 generators to 16 hospitals in the eastern regions of Ukraine. If the clinics are small, the generator will provide electricity for the whole clinic. However, if the hospital is larger, the generators will provide electricity for the operating theatres and intensive care units. Thus, the hospitals will be able to function during power cuts and will not be forced to stop operations and put patients“ lives at risk," says ADRA director, Stano Bielik.
The project will also purchase two trucks that will improve the logistical capacity of the Ukrainian ADRA office. With its own vehicles, ADRA will be able to ensure more efficient distribution of humanitarian aid to the population of vulnerable areas in the east and south of Ukraine.
