In November we celebrated the 30th anniversary of ADRA in Slovakia.
We opened the ceremony with an exhibition of photographs that captured our activities in Slovakia and abroad from the 1990s to the present day. The panel discussion that followed gave participants and high school students the opportunity to learn more about humanitarian aid, volunteering and gave our partners from UNHCR, SlovakAid, the Slovak Government Office and the NGO platform Ambrele the opportunity to highlight the importance of civil society and humanitarian aid.

The event included a presentation of our humanitarian and development projects in Slovakia, Syria, Lebanon, Uganda and Rwanda, and we also paid special attention to humanitarian volunteering.
We also gave the floor to the former directors of the Slovak ADRA office, who reminisced about their time at ADRA and evaluated the organization's activities during previous humanitarian crises in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Abkhazia, as well as during the refugee crisis and the war in Ukraine.
Our foreign ADRA partners from Japan, Ukraine, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and Syria were also present and thanked us for our systematic and meaningful cooperation and willingness to find solutions even in the most difficult situations.

After the official part of the event, we started the benefit concert with the musician Pavel Helan, Ukrainian singer Oksana Kozun-Turcer and the Sonjašnyk Choir. The benefit included a collection to help families in Ukraine who have lost access to heat and light as a result of the fighting.
And what did our distinguished guests wish us? Most of them wished us at least another 30 years of helping the needy. We wish that not only in 30 years, but as soon as possible, the world will reach a point where the help of humanitarian organisations will no longer be needed. But until that scenario happens, we will continue to be here for those who need us most.
Thank you to all of our supporters, partners, volunteers and staff for being committed to helping us for 30 years. You are the driving force that can transform suffering and sadness into joy and smiles. Thank you for being with us!
