SOS: Floods in Ukraine. Help with us!

Public collection for the inhabitants of the flooded areas in Ukraine after the attack on the Kakhovka dam.

Together with the Ukrainian ADRA office and the international network of ADRA International, we secured the first truck with 3456 packs of drinking water (6 litre containers) for the affected Kherson region. We shipped our truck with drinking water packs to the village of Vysoke in the flooded Kherson region. For the people affected by the flood wave from the Kachov Dam, drinking water is the most important form of aid at the moment.

Wednesday morning's Kachovka Dam explosion severely damaged the Kherson area. Our Ukrainian colleagues from ADRA Ukraine contacted us in the early hours of the morning with an urgent plea for immediate help. Our Slovak ADRA office immediately started preparing the first urgent shipment of humanitarian aid for the inhabitants of the affected area.

Water has flooded villages and towns, and rapid evacuation of residents in threatened areas is underway. Homes, basements, roads and wells are flooded, infrastructure is damaged. Drinking water and non-perishable food are the most urgent needs at the moment.

ADRA Slovakia and ADRA Japan provided operational funding for the first drinking water truck. Our partners from ADRA Ukraine are already arranging the purchase, transport and preparation at the disaster site.
