Renovation of the hospital in Eastern Slovakia - thank you

Participants of the ADRA summer camp rebuilt a hospital

Patients, as well as the staff of the hospital in Kralovský Chlmec, have been feeling a bit better since July. A few renovations and improvements by volunteers from the ADRA summer camp have contributed to this.

Summer can be spent in different ways. Also in meaningful ways. A dozen participants of the ADRA summer camp joined forces and did a good deed. Thanks to their activity, all the participants will surely feel good for the rest of the holidays - together they rebuilt the hospital in Kralovské Chlmec.

In the first half of July, ADRA volunteers from Košice and its surroundings were involved in the improvement of the local hospital with a polyclinic. As the name of the project “Let's improve the hospital” suggests - the work consisted of painting the hospital rooms, restoring the mesh in the premises, checking the wiring, aligning the surface in the corridors, cleaning the door and window frames and so on. Replacement of flooring still awaits these enthusiasts in the coming weeks. 

The hospital staff were enthusiastic about the tenacious work in the long-term care unit. Individuals, companies and associations contributed to the material, which made the employee of the ADRA Slovakia - Košice Volunteer Centre, Peter Milko, sincerely grateful and touched. The good name and enthusiasm for the work and support of the humanitarian and development organisation, which this year celebrated its 25th anniversary and which helps the needy not only abroad but also at home, continues to spread in the region. As you can see - very directly and effectively.

„The ADRA Košice Volunteer Centre together with other volunteers from Slovenko undertook to beautify the premises of the NsP Kralovsky Chlmec. During five working days  their hardworking hands have repaired and painted the corridors in the day surgery, surgical ward and patients' day rooms. The gynaecology patients' rooms and the A&E rooms also received a new coat of paint. The newly painted fence around the whole hospital area and the garage we believe will please every eye. Thanks to a generous sponsor, the young patients in the children's ward could also enjoy their gifts. Medical supplies and aids, dressing material, diapers for children and adult patients, bed linen, blankets, personal hygiene items were all offered to the local hospital as our gift thanks to the sponsors who supported us in our project.
